Tonight we bring the world of chamber music for strings into the concert hall with a program of unusual and delightful works. First, we play one of Mozart's treasured serenades, featuring a solo role for string quartet, and follow it with James Yannato's neo-romantic concerto for string quartet and orchestra. The Chiara players will bring virtuosity and youthful energy, as one of the world's foremost rising string quartets. Our second half opens with Respighi's sumptuous modern setting of 'old music' for strings. Lastly, we offer the rarely-heard treasure: Brahm's Piano Quartet in G minor, gloriously arranged for full orchestra by Arnold Schoenberg.
