Jennifer Frautschi, Soloist
Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Beethoven: Egmont Overture
Beethoven: Symphony No. 7

Who but Beethoven could begin a violin concerto in 1806 with four strokes of the kettledrum? Who but he could paint a complete psychological portrait of an heroic leader with only a few notes? Who but Ludwig could conceive a symphony so complete in design and so irresistible in rhythm that Wagner would hail it as the "Apotheosis of the Dance?" The answer, of course: none but Beethoven!
