Porgy and Bess

In George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, we are captivated by the tunes, struck by the color and brilliance of the orchestration, and excited by the rhythms. Beyond this, though, we are caught up by the completely moving human portraits, irresistibly and eloquently expressed through glorious song. This concert suite features all the music we love best from the opera, and our performance will be enhanced by two marvelous soloists and a Community Festival Chorus directed by Peoria's own outstanding director, Sharon Samuels Reed.
