Mozart's Magnificent Voyage

We’re pleased to once again partner with the Peoria Civic Center’s Youth Theater series in presenting Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage. More than twenty excerpts of Mozart’s masterworks are heard in this concert-play, with musical favorites from The Magic Flute,The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and more.

The story is of Mozart’s young son, Karl, who longs to be taken from his boarding school to spend more time with his famous father. His wish is fulfilled when Wolfgang Amadeus takes him to a performance of The Magic Flute. This true father-son event gives Karl a chance to understand Mozart’s extraordinary life as a travelling prodigy, his pressures from family and fame, his passion for composing and the common bonds they both share.
